What Makes Someone Build Something?

Whitby Cathedral built 14??

Of course its in ruins now, but to walk around it,

and see the scale - even of what's left is inspiring.

Doesn't hurt it overlooks a classic NE UK wave either..

I guess if they used to surf at that time, they wouldn't need a church to spend time on the weekends...

so what's the scoop on surfing in the UK? What are your average water temps, air temps? Pics I see always look a little spooky. Where I live the weather is ideal, but we have some wicked flat spells.

hey clay,

sorry for not replying sooner..

the air and water varies quite a bit to be honest, on where, and when.

in the north east the air goes from -8C to 25C and the sea temps are 6-12C

in the south the air is 0-25C and the water is about 8-14C.

The water also varies alot. If you are in an area around a river, you can bet on chocolate, murky water, but some places have white sand, and clear blue water.

its a pretty cool place to be, as there is loads of variety.
